The third assignment is about how to do selection and masking.
So, do you ever think of burning someone's hair or even yourself's..........?? You can have a try!
There are two ways to add the fire image into the girl's hair:
For the first version:
- Drag the fire image into the girl image and set the blending mode to SCREEN to get rid off all the black sides.
- Unchain the link so that the image can move freely by remaining the mask layer. The mask layer will not be affected.
- Duplicate the whole layer and transform it to fix into the hair. You can go in the mask layer to adjust the opacity and erase the unwanted parts by using brush tool.
For the second version:
This is probably a better way because the fire image can only be shown on the hair part. The fire image is covered on the hair but not the person.
- As we can see, the blue colour is the predominant colour of the background. Use the Magic Wand Tool to select blue colour. You can add more on by holding the SHIFT key.
- Remember to unselected the Contiguous button to pick up more hairs at the trapping part. Then press Select > Inverse.
- To make the fire looks less sharpen, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.
- If the images are not in the right size, just unlink them and transform the image to fit it into another image. Duplicate the layer and repeat the previous step.
